Another Monday
Gosh, I really didn't want to start the week today. It was a great weekend for all of us. My only complaint is that I barely stitched. Friday was a really fun day for the kids and me. I took them out to breakfast and we ran a few errands and I bought them both a reward for a job well done with my parent/teaacher conferences. I also got some fabric at Joanns. That was about the only thing worth buying there. Remember the last time I went that there was a whole half aisle that wasn't stocked. On one side was cross stitch and nothing on the other. Well they finally got around to stocking it. It is all knitting and crochet accessories. Sigh.... Thank goodness I have an AC Moore very close to me for when I need my cross stitch fix. :)
Saturday we were out and about again doing errands and whatnot. We went to Target and Best Buy on Saturday night. I was really good and just kind of checked out prices on Christmas gifts I am going to be needing to buy soon. We ended running into good friends of ours at Best Buy and ended up there much longer than we anticipated.
Yesterday we went to the noon Mass. I normally don't go to that Mass but I am glad I did. Our church is doing our annual 40 Hours Devotion and that was the start Mass. I will be there again tonight as DS is altar server for Vespers, Evening Prayer and Benediction. Tomorrow DS will be there again from 1-1:30 PM and I will probably go sit quietly for that half hour. This will be a good start for our upcoming Advent season.
Other than Mass we just hung out at home. I would have stitched but I ended up spending time with the kids. Last night we closed our great weekend by watching Wizard of Oz on TBS. I love that movie and I remember as a child that it was always on around Thanksgiving. The kids have seen it before but we all enjoyed what has become a tradition of us sitting around watching it. Now I need to pull out the Christmas movies to start watching next week. :)
For the week, I plan on laundry for today and tomorrow as I did the bare minimum all weekend. I figure I will get some stitching time in between loads. Then the rest of the week, I will do my cleaning. I need to get this house in order since I am hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year. I also need to get the shopping done but I figure I will go over the weekend and early next week for my dinner ingredients.
I can't believe the holidays are practically here. Sure we have been seeing commercials for months now it seems, but the calendar says different. This is when I start getting in the holiday spirit. I also refuse to get stressed out. I know it will get done. I make it so. But I have to admit, I do love the hustle and bustle. Hopefully in the next couple days, I will do some online shopping for the things I know I can order online. I get a lot done at this computer in the way of gifts. :)
Well I best be getting my laundry started. Have a great day everyone!

We watched The Wizard of Oz last night, too. That is my Mom's favorite movie of all time, and the torch has been handed down. We actually started a bit of Christmas shopping this weekend. I still can't believe it, though!
Oooh, I so cannot watch The Wizard of Oz - the monkeys still scare me!
Funny how these holidays sneak up on you!LOL LOL
I love the Wizard of Oz!!! I may have to buy the new digitally remastered version thats now out!!
Next on the movie list is of course our family favorite "The Christmas Story". It's such a riot!!!
Hugs
I watched it, too! It was on Friday and Saturday night and I watched it both nights! It brings back memories for me, I loved that movie as a child. I'm getting a little nervous now that the Christmas season is almost here, I need to start thinking about shopping real soon.
I just scared my coworker by telling her it is Thanksgiving next week - she thought it was still more than 2 weeks away! Sure has crept up on us fast though.
