Weekend Wrapup
This was a sopping, wet weekend around here. After my last entry, the rain just got heavier and heavier and remained steady with no breaks til it finally stopped late Saturday/early Sunday morning. Yesterday we had a few little drizzly type showers but the main rain was gone. I swear by Saturday night we were going to have to row to get anywhere.
We ended up going to Kohl's and the mall. I am so happy to say that I now have both kids' winter coats. That is a first for me. I am usually last minute and chances are the kids have to squeeze into their old one that I knew was going to be tight in the first place. This year, they will have their new coats at the first sign of frost. YES!! I also got DS much needed clothes. He is growing like a weed. I so wish my mom were here to see him. My mom used to fret when we had to buy him size 6 slim pants when he was 7 years old. He was so skinny. On Saturday night after trying on many pairs of pants he is a 14 husky and 16 regular. My little man is finally filling out.
I also got DD her Christmas dress. It is so pretty. It is a dark red and black number. She loves it. This is another thing I procrastinate about and I am happy that we had lots of choices to pick from instead the of the usual one or two I see in December. LOL
After we got home, I was going to stitch but ended up putting away all our purchases. By the time I finished, I was ready for bed. The weather just really took it out of me.
Yesterday was Football and Stitching. I watched the sorry excuse of a football game between the Eagles and Dallas. Sigh...we can do so much better. But I got lots of stitching done and if I can get a few more evenings like yesterday, I will have a great progress picture to show. With any luck, I will get beyond the half way point on the chart this week. Without interruptions I can get lots done and yesterday was one of those days with minimal interruptions. We were all in the same room watching football. LOL
Now for today. I am back to my dull boring household chore stuff. I have mega laundry and so far have 2 loads finished and folded and two more working in the washer and dryer. I so hope by the end of today that lots of it is finished.
It is still gray and dreary here today so I can't hang anything outside. I love hanging out my clothes and smelling that fresh air smell. But that will have to wait because if the weather report is right, we may not be seeing sun the rest of the week. I also think I heard that we will be getting more showers tomorrow or Wednesday. I sure hope they are tomorrow. I have to lunch mother on Wednesday and I really don't want to be inside with kids, especially the 5th graders. They are just brutal.
There goes the dryer so I better get moving if I want this mountain turned into a hill. LOL
Have a great day everyone!

Okay Mia I need your services ;)
I have two teenage daughters who need new winter coats. So can you come down to Ohio and take them shopping?LOL You see it is always the worse thing in the world for them to have to something like a "coat". For them its" Why buy a coat when you buy CD's or vinyl records??"
Funny how something like buying the new coats is such a great accomplishment for us Moms!! But it really is!!
Hugs
I am in Texas and NOT a Cowboys fan - I was rooting for those birds myself!
You're really on top of things! I've got to check to see if Joshua's coat will fit him this winter. I know Eve has a beautiful snow suit, it was a gift when I was pregnant with Joshua and he never got to wear it. Eve should fit into it nicely.
We're going to get the kids' Christmas clothes on black Friday. We're hoping to find some good sales!
Yes, you are on top of things! How do you do it? I don't even have kids at home and I still can't get it together!
