Woosh!!!!
That sound you heard is my weekend!!! Where the heck did it go? Heck, where has every day gone this past week? Anyway, my plan from now til school starts is to chill and get the kids ready for back to school. As of right now, all obligations that take place at my house, i.e. birthday parties, bbqs, get togethers, are finished for now. At this point, we will be going to parties at other peoples houses for the next few weekends. Yikes!! When did we become so popular? LOL
With that said, starting tomorrow, I need to get my house back in some order and get the kids in some order. Can you say "summer reading"? Yup!! You guessed it. Since June 17, DS has read exactly two chapters and he needs to finish TWO books. DD has read 2 books and has one more to do. DD also has a math packet and 3 worksheets to finish regarding the three books she had to read all summer. So it looks like I will be cracking the whip this week to get them started on all this stuff. While they are doing that I will hopefully be settling in with some stitching. Yes, I want to get myself back into some sort of routine or rotation so to speak. I haven't really been stitching and I miss it. In the past week I have done a little here and there and I really want to sit a couple of hours uninterrupted to stitch. What better time than when the kids are reading?
I have started gathering school supplies, backpacks, etc. and this week I plan on getting the uniforms under control. They also need to get shoes and sneakers. DD is not going to be happy. The child has not worn sneakers since some time in June. LOL
I am going to go read a couple of blogs and then settle in and maybe stitch. This weekend flew by but it was a lot of fun. It exhausted me. :)

Hi Mia, I can understand why the school wants the children to read some books, but I don't understand the other tasks. Our children don't get any work for the holidays. When they are about 15 it can happen, but that's because of poor results.
Good luck with all the preparations for school. And happy stitching!
Stitching while the kiddos are reading sounds like the perfect way to spend a few afternoons! Can you believe this gorgeous weather? We're going to have to start making some plans for CATS, it will be here before we know it! I still haven't registered for the framing class I want to take. I may just bag on it this year, particularly because it starts at 8:00 Saturday morning! Who wants to get up that early when there are no kids around?
When do your kids go back to school? Most kids around here either went back last week or this week, but my boys don't start until after Labor Day (one of the perks we pay for with private kindergarten - our last year for a cushy schedule!).
