Happy Friday

Happy Weekend Everyone!!! It has been a busy and hectic week here. I woke up this morning so grateful that it was Friday and that I can have some down time this weekend.

Yesterday we went to lunch with DD's teacher and it was fun. She had such a blast talking with Mr. F. She was beaming that he was eating with us in the summer. After lunch, we went to AC Moore and I got some floss. On Wednesday night, I pulled out a few little projects and kitted them up. I swear I have one of each color including the new ones that came out a couple years ago. No I don't. I needed NINE colors. It was 7 for $1.00 with a 24 color limit. What is up with that? This is the first time that AC Moore has ever put a limit on floss. I realize there have been times that I have gone in and bought over 100 but what about the people who buy other craft things in bulk. I have been behind people in line with over $300 worth of yarn and carts full of silk flowers. So what did I do? I picked out 24 and then another 24 and handed them to DS with the money. I will probably go back one more time this week to get some more. I love having the extra and like I said, I didn't realize I was out of some colors.

What I do is I have 1 of each color in my floss box that my dad made. It is a tight fit because in the years after he made that box, DMC came out with more. I also have some of the older dyelots in there too. Then I have a rubbermaid bin (not huge, just right) with zip loc bags numbered 100, 200, etc. and I sort my floss according to the number group. I also keep my floss baggies in there so I can kit up projects with ease. Wednesday I saw that my 400s were very low and I had no 433-437 left. So I looked in the other bags and made notes of what bags looked a little low or what ones had not enough of a shade of color. Hopefully when the mood strikes to kit up more things, I will have all the colors needed. LOL The next time I go back, I need to get some black, white and ecru. I only have two of each of those left.

Anyway, enough of boring you with my floss organization or lack thereof!!! :)

Today I have the normal household stuff to do and I need to fit in grocery shopping. I still haven't gotten to it. It is not that I don't want to. I just don't feel like going with three children. DH said if I don't get to it, he will go with me tonight. That is fine but then that means I am putting stuff away very late tonight. I just don't know. I guess I will see how it goes.

Tomorrow we have a birthday party to go to at our neighbors. Their DS is turning 3. I am sure it will turn into a late night since they are neighbors and it is not like we have to drive far to get home. LOL We just walk 3 houses down to our house. LOL Sunday I made no plans. Our pool club is having a Member Appreciation Day with a DJ, food, games, prizes, etc. so I want to take the kids to that and DH will come when he is finished work.

I did great with stitching this week. Last night was the only night I didn't pick up a needle as I was too tired.

The dragon is looking good. When I post the picture you will notice confetti stitching. That will not be filled in. That is the way it is supposed to look. So I can now officially say that that portion is finished to the half way part. There will be a black gap underneath and then his wings. But I won't be there for awhile yet. I need to fill in the rest of the confetti type stitching.

Coffee is coming along. I am now filling in the coffee beans. What you will see on the scan is 3 brown colors. It will show you how many browns and black are in those beans. But I am so enjoying stitching on it. Hopefully tonight I will get to it along with the dragon.

I forgot to scan the little Marigold Fairy. She is no longer an orange blob and maybe over the weekend or early next week I will scan my progress on her.

Well I guess that is it from here. I hope everyone has a happy and safe weekend.
