Typical Tuesday

It is hard to believe that Spring will start in less than a week. I wish someone would tell the weather around here. It was 26 degrees when I took the kids to school this morning. It is supposed to get up to 48 degrees today. Still cold in my book!! At least the sun is shining. We rarely saw the sun through the winter so it is nice to see it now. I will be happy when Spring gets here.

Things are shaping up to be pretty routine around here today. I have the usual household stuff and dinner prep to do. DH is going to bbq tonight so it is an easy meal for me with minimal clean up.

Last night I managed to finish all but three stitches in the inner border on Coffee. I sat for over 2 hours and I realized I had a rhythm going. I would do about 5-6 one stitch here, one stitch there and then I would do 2-3 areas that had at least 3-5 stitches of one color. By the time I went to bed, I only had the three stitches left to do. It doesn't look like I accomplished all that much but I really did. The only reason I didn't finish the three stitches is because I can use that color starting into the blue background area of the coffee cups. I am so hoping that tonight I will see great progress because I looked down further at the page of the chart I am doing and I see there are at least 3-4 areas using one color and I am talking rows of the same color. YES!!!!

I was a good girl last night and did not go ahead and finish my 4th crochet block. I am about half way finished and was tempted to do some after I finished the dishes. But I didn't. But first thing this morning as the kids were eating breakfast, I picked it up. I will probably pick it up again during the day to see if I can finish it. I am so hoping the border comes out better. I feel I am progressing with this whole border and edging thing but I still dread doing it. It usually means ripping out at least 2 if not 3 times. Hopefully by the 63rd square, I will have it perfected. If not, only you and me will know. lol

I may have a progress picture later if I finish. This square is also being done in the brownish tan shade.

Have a great day everyone!!!

It's tough to put down the crochet when it goes so quickly, especially when you feel like you're not really getting anywhere on the cross stitch! Do whatever you enjoy doing, though, I say. Then again, that's why it took me so long to finish the bears! To answer your question, I started that project in 2003, but kept putting it off because I didn't really want the recipient to get married, it was sort of my way of denial...if I didn't make the wedding present, they wouldn't get married. I eventually got over that, and started really working on it last summer. I guess it took me about four months total, it would have been done ages ago, but I just kept putting it down.

Now that I've left the world's longest comment...enjoy creating!
