Monday Mumbles
Here is my latest progress on Rose. I am really enjoying it and watching it grow. I never made it to the half way part of the chart but I should be able to by the end of this week if I can stitch every night.
Ahhh, Monday!! It was a long weekend here as the kids had off on Friday for a Teacher In-Service Day. We have 4 or 5 of them a year and they normally fall on a Friday so it makes for a long weekend. I had good intentions of posting my progress picture and blog entry on Friday but the kids wanted to do fun stuff and since it was raining we did. We did run out to a few stores and I got to check out my new Joann Superstore that opened about a month ago. Their cross stitch was only one full aisle (both sides) and one half but they are still stocking the store. The half aisle was just that. There was barely nothing on the other side of the aisle other than empty shelves. I was a good girl and didn't buy anything. Actually nothing was screaming at me so it was good for the wallet.
After we came home, we baked cookies. It was miserable out and it was a fun thing to do. We did chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin. It was nice spending quality time with my kids.
Saturday was a day pretty much to hang around the house. We were still gray and dreary here and I managed some household stuff and a little bit of stitching.
Yesterday we had a Christening to attend for DH's cousin's new baby. She is a princess and we had a nice time. We had to leave early as DS was being altar server at the 5:15 Mass last evening. I really do not like that Mass as I prefer Saturday Vigil or Sunday morning but we do what we have to do. We tried to get a substitute but the kids don't like serving that Mass either or maybe like me, a parent, they don't like it because it is smack in the middle of Sunday dinner. I don't know but we are good for a few more weeks before he has to serve this Mass again. I am grateful that the next few are Sunday mornings.
Today on my agenda is the normal stuff. I have laundry hanging out as we finally have SUN out there. It is definitely Autumn around here and I am enjoying the cool air and sun we have had for two days in a row now.
I am hoping to finish up my crochet square either today or tomorrow. I haven't measured it and I don't work on it on weekends so I am not sure where I left off. I will be so glad to be finished this square. After this one, I will post a picture of my last 3 finishes.
I guess that is about it from here. Have a great day everyone!!!

Mia, The Rose is looking fantastic!! I know what you mean about JO-Ann's, we have only 1 aisle of Cross Stitch at our store and I have never been tempted to purchase anything!!! Thank Goodness for Internet shopping!! ;)
What do you mean - they only have 1 aisle???? Good thing there isn't a Joann's around here or I'd go nuts! Our Hobby Lobby has three rows of solid cross-stitch stuff. I love it. I could use more, though!
In my experience, JoAnn usually only has one aisle devoted to stitching. BOOORING! I do like to go there for fabric even though they can be pricey. They have a great selection of that.
Great progress. Ann.
