Preparations Well Underway

Since the last time I blogged which seems like forever, I have accomplished the following:

1. Food ordered for DD's Communion
2. Liquor and Beer bought for DD's Communion
3. Laundry almost caught up
4. Cleaning almost done
5. Call to friends and family for canopy, coolers, tables, chairs, etc.

So it is almost done. I still need to go to BJ's (warehouse store like Sam's Costco, etc.) to buy plasticware, cups, tablecovers, napkins, aluminum pans, etc. Sis in law R is taking me early in the week. I also need to get new shoes and pantyhose and shirt and tie for DH. That will also be one night next week unless we get a chance to go tomorrow.

The weather forecast for next Saturday as of right now is sunny with a high of 66 F. That is perfect. Last week I got so overwhelmed and when I sat down to think about it, I really have been ahead of all the prep work. I talked to some moms at school and the ones have house parties haven't even ordered their food or cakes.

Our Church is repaired and Masses are being said there this weekend for the first time since the fire in February. WHEW!!! We knew it would be opened for the Communion but never believed they would open a week ahead of schedule. God Bless the workers who made it happen.

The only thing suffering is my stitching. Sigh....I haven't picked up a needle and have left my stitching out with the hopes of putting in a few stitches here and there. If I don't pick up a needle tomorrow, I will put it away til after the Communion. I am just too darn tired at night. I have finished the fan and popcorn square and it is just a tad too short. I will redo it before I stitch together the first column. I did start the next square which I think is #55 but it is giving me fits. Either that or I have no patience. Probably the latter. I figure I will just crochet in the coming week to calm me down.

So that is pretty much the news here. Tomorrow I plan on scrubbing both of my bathrooms so I just have to do a quickie wipe next Friday. Actually I plan on wiping down every day after I do my morning shower as I am the last person in the bathroom in the morning since I take my shower and do my hair and makeup after I take the kids to school. So that should be an easy job.

Have a great evening and a good day tomorrow!!! Hopefully I will have some stitching stuff to talk about after DD's Communion.

Good to hear that you've gotten so much finished! I'm so glad that your church was repaired-and ahead of schedule! BTW, Petra (her blog is Snapshots of Life) went to a store called Cross Stitch Corner at the Hershey Outlets this weekend. I didn't know there was one out there! I'm dying to take a trip out now (Hershey is only about an hour from me). Did you know about it? Have you been there?
